grade about the importance of staying safe when being approached by strangers. Recently a young girls was almost
abducted from the Wal-Mart in Bremen, Ga and the leaders of the Word of Life program felt it was important that the kids
hte things they should do if someone tried to abduct the,. He said the best action they could take would be to scream and
kick as loud as they could to draw attention as most who would try taking a child do not want attention drawn to them. He
also mentioned that the kids should always be aware of their surroundings and to ALWAYS know what those who work in the
store wear so they could recognize who they could ask for help if necessary.
Officer Chapman gave demonstrations for the kids showing them the signs to look for, how they should stay close to their
parents or hold onto the buggy while in the store. She told them that they should always make sure they are within speaking
distance to their parents while in the store and that if someone seems to close to them while in the store and they aren't
familiar with this person that they should move away quickly and find their parents.
We are blessed to have such a great Police and Sheriff's department in our community.
