The City of Franklin is currently laying concrete on Newnan Street. The City Council
decided to used concrete instead of asphalt for this project. Newnan Street was milled
down to curb level back in 2009 due to multiple layers of asphalt already on the road.
Georgia DOT had scheduled to resurface this road using LARP (Local Assistant Road
Project) funds but once the contractor came to do the work, the City found out that only
a partial section of the road was scheduled by the GA DOT, leaving the City to finish the
project.
