2011, completing training that has prepared him to enter the work force. Brandon received high
honors at the graduation services held in Franklin, NC at the Job Corp center. Brandon Swint, along
with 8 of his fellow classmates, entered the gymnasium in their blue cap and gowns to cheers from
fellow classmates, instructors, family and friends. One by one the graduate's names were called and
they stood before the crowd as their achievements were listed. When they reach Brandon Swint, the
last name to be called, the crowd rose to their feet, clapping and yelling, more so than any other
graduate! As Brandon rose to his feet, the smile on his face was bigger than any I've ever seen,
except maybe that of his mother Sheila Swint. Brandon proceeded forward and hugged his
instructor and received his Certificate of Achievement in Facilities Maintenance/Construction and his
tassel on his cap was turned to the left.
The most moving moment of the service came as Brandon turned to face his mother Sheila Swint
and grandfather Larry Ware, with his certificate in hand. Larry Ware, a Vietnam veteran, rose to his
feet with his walking cane, and raised his right hand to his forehead and saluted his grandson. A
fitting ending to this part of his life and new beginning for a young man with ambition and
determination. God bless you Brandon Swint and we look forward to great things from you!
