Mr. Charlie Ray Traylor, age 74, of Franklin passed away December 17, 2024. His funeral will be held Friday December 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at High Point Church of God with Rev. Lynn Janney, Rev. Dwayne Shadix, and Rev. Mark Tatum officiating. His body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 – 1:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the Church Cemetery. The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Mr. Traylor was born December 19, 1949 in Heard County to the late Charlie Thomas Traylor and Nadine Arrington Traylor. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was known for his skills on the basketball court during his high school years and never lost his love of watching sports on TV. He was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and tuned in every time they were on the field. He also enjoyed going deer hunting each fall. He was a man who loved the Lord and attended High Point Church of God for most of his life. He always kept the vehicles he owned in the most pristine condition possible. It was said that he had the cleanest trucks in Heard County. Survivors include: a daughter, Sandi Lea Traylor of Winston, GA four sisters: Sherrie Mooney (Johnny) of Franklin, Wilma Putzek of Franklin, Brenda Rogers (Donald) of Franklin, and Rana Cosper (Tilman) of LaGrange a brother, Tony Traylor (Carol) of Franklin a special nephew, Phillip Spradlin (Melanie) of Franklin and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Spradlin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to High Point Church of God. Mrs. Carolyn Sue Boggus Duncan, age 77, a former recent resident of Franklin, GA, passed away at her home in Griffin December 11, 2024. A graveside service will be held Saturday December 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin with Pastor Neil Awbrey officiating. The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Saturday afternoon from 12:00 – 1:30 PM prior to the service. Carol was born March 6, 1947 in Atlanta, GA to the late Hurchel and Leila Boggus of Franklin. She was a Christian by faith. In 1970, Carol worked as a professional solo “buck dancer” at Muhlenbrink's Saloon in Underground Atlanta. She had the reputation of dancing faster than any piano or banjo player in the city. She was a return-to-school mom and graduated from Emory University in 1983. She was a new products development research chemist at ExxonMobil Chemical Co. for 18 years before retiring with 18 granted patents. She was fearless, kind to a fault, and loved dogs, music, and children. But ask anyone who knew her - Miss Carol didn’t suffer fools lightly. Survivors include: her husband, Bob of Griffin, to whom she was married for 52 years son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Elizabeth Duncan, and their two sons, Connor and Zach her sister, Debbie Boggus Hays and three brothers: Steve Boggus, Jimmy Boggus, and Holly Boggus and a number of other relatives and friends.
